The Certificate Program in Medical Assisting is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), 1361 Park Street, Clearwater, Florida 33756, (727) 210- 2350, www.caahep.org, on the recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB)) of the American Association of Medical Assistants? Endowment (AAMAE). Completion of this program qualifies the student to take the National Certification examination CMA-AAMA-Certified Medical Assistant Exam. Graduates of the Medical Assisting programs at Chabot College will have an opportunity to apply for employment as Medical Assistants in an ambulatory care setting. Medical Assistants are multi-skilled allied health professionals who can perform a variety of administrative and clinical skills.

Program Learning Outcomes
- To prepare competent entry-level professional medical assistants in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains.
- To be responsive to the communities of interest that are served by the program including, but are not limited to, students, graduates, faculty, sponsor administration, industry partners, physicians, and the public.
- Employ principles of communication theory to facilitate and maintain effective, verbal, written and nonverbal interaction
