Associate in Arts in Geography for Transfer (Associates)
Santa Ana College
Santa Ana, CA
The Associate in Arts in Geography for Transfer (AA-T) prepares students to move into a curriculum at a 4-year institution leading to a baccalaureate degree in Geography. Please consult a counselor regarding specific course requirements for your transfer institution. Completion of the AA-T degree also provides guaranteed admission with junior status to the CSU system, although does not guarantee admission to a specific campus or major. See Associate Degrees for Transfer for a list of additional requirements for all Associate in Arts for Transfer (AAT) and Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T) degrees. Upon completion of the AA-T in Geography, students will have an understanding of both the breadth and depth of the spatial perspective that is central to geographic study. This knowledge will be grounded in the comprehension of geographic principles, concepts, ideas, theories, research, terminology, and relationships. Students will also have the capacity to write and think in a critical and analytical way about issues pertaining to earth surface study, human/environment interaction and impact, and local, regional, and global relationships and associations.
Learning Outcome(s):
🗸 Students will recognize the interrelatedness of the components of the earth system, processes, and human characteristics found on the planet and analyze these from a spatial perspective and through the use of the scientific method.
