The Registered Nursing Program provides student-centered education , preparing graduates to practice as caring registered nurses providing safe, quality, patient-centered care with a foundation for lifelong learning.

 

The program educates nursing students about patient/client services in a variety of healthcare settings. Clinical experience in hospitals and other healthcare agencies is correlated with classroom instruction. At the satisfactory completion of all courses and the specified general education requirements, the individual will receive an Associate in Science degree and will be eligible for the National Licensing Exam (NCLEX). (If you have been convicted of any offense other than a minor traffic violation, it may prevent your attending clinical rotations where criminal background checks are required. You will be required to declare offenses on your state application to write the licensing exam, which may delay the licensing application process and may affect your eligibility to become licensed.)

A student who completes this program (degree/certificate) will

- acquire the skills, knowledge and competencies, including pharmacology, fundamentals, medical-surgical and specialty nursing necessary for licensure and employment as a Registered Nurse.
